The Finance Ministry has approved a budget of Rs 355 million for the Islamabad High Court for the fiscal year 2012-13 against the demand of Rs 385 million.
According to an IHC source, the court has received a letter about the said amount from the Finance Ministry. The approved budget will be used for pay and allowances of the judges and staff of the high court. The source said maintenance work of the court, purchase of equipment and all general expenditures would be also done from this budget. It is pertinent to mention here that in the last fiscal year, the IHC received a budget of Rs 212 million for running its affairs, but due to the appointment of new judges and the other staff of the court as mentioned in the IHC Act, the Finance Ministry raised the finances of the court up to Rs 355 million for the next fiscal year.
74 deported Pakistanis arrive: As many as 74 Pakistanis deported from Greece and Bahrain arrived at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport by two flights here on Thursday. All the deportees were taken into custody and shifted to Federal Investigation Agency Passport Cell for investigation. Ten deported Pakistani arrived from Bahrain through Etihad Airlines while 64 arrived from Greece through Gulf Airlines. Greece and Turkey deport hundreds of Pakistani illegal immigrants annually.
