The World Environment Day will be observed actively in the provincial metropolis on June 5, as several programmes have been chalked out by NGOs and the Punjab Environment Protection Department. EPD sources said various events will be held from June 1 till 5th. The programmes include seminars, walks, exhibitions and poetry competitions-all designed to encourage people from all walks of life to participate in the events. The World Environment Day (WED) is aimed at boosting awareness about the environment and concerned issues and continues to seek political attention and public action for the collective cause.
