MQM not for division of Sindh: Malik

Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik Wednesday clarified that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was not interested to establish a new province in Sindh.
Malik was speaking to media representatives Wednesday at Karachi airport upon his return from London where he met PPP ally MQM chief, Altaf Hussain on Tuesday.
Malik said MQM chief has opposed the proposed Mohajir province, affirming that “People will not let Sindh be divided.”
“I discussed in detail all issues with Mr. Altaf Hussain and he expressed resolve to support the government for the sake of Pakistan,” Malik told reporters.
About the recent violence in Karachi, Malik said: “Karachi is city of everyone and everybody can come to Karachi. Outsiders are involved in terrorist activities in the city. They are bent upon destabilizing Pakistan.”
Referring to increase in US drone strikes in tribal belt, Malik said that people and the government of Pakistan would not tolerate the US missile attacks inside Pakistani territory.
Malik said “people and the government of Pakistan will not tolerate such attacks on our soil.”
