Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in ambush on a passenger bus, leaving nine people dead and many others injured on Friday. Unknown gunmen ambushed a passenger coach on National Highway near Qazi Ahmed locality of Nawabshah, prompting President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of the tragic incident. The bus was on its way from Karachi to Swabi town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sindh’s nationalist parties and MQM had condemned the assault, describing it as a bid to fuel ethnic hatred in the province. Police sources told media persons that a suspect was arrested from a village in Daulatpur taluka of district Nawabshah, identified as Ejaz Pirzada, who masterminded the plan according to police.
