An educated mother can lay foundation of healthy civilized family, this fact accentuates the importance of education of females.
The constitution of Pakistan provides full participation of women in all spheres of life constituting more than 50% of the total population, but the literacy rate in females is just 36% as compared to men that is 64%.
However, it is imperative that the female youth be facilitated in every respect and sphere of life. These views were expressed by Faisal Sabzwari, Sindh Minster of Youth Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi, and others on the occasion of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Karachi and Department of Youth Affairs.
The MoU was signed to promote youth activities in Sindh Province and to prepare much needed infrastructure of hostel facilities for female youth hailing from other districts and provinces coming to attend seminars, conferences and youth related activities through actualizing Government of Sindh ADP Project titled `Completion of Remaining Work of the Visiting Female Scholars and Youth Hostel at Karachi University’.
On this occasion, Secretary Youth Affairs Sindh, Shoaib Siddiqui, Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi, Prof. Dr. Abuzar Wajidi and others expressed that it is the need of time that female youth of the province are given hostel facilities in a safe and secure place.
This MoU will prove to be uni-vocal in increasing inter regional cooperation as well because females from other provinces and districts will come and stay in the hostel and will help in exchange and share of knowledge.
Dean Faculty of Science, Arts, Islamic Studies, Pharmacy and Management and Administrative Sciences were also present on the occasion.
