Ameer Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan Syed Munawar Hasan on Tuesday strongly reacted to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s statement that a US apology on Silala attack won’t bring our soldiers back and said only an illiterate and insensitive man could utter such words.
“Yousuf Raza Gilani’s statement in this respect is an open invitation to the lawbreakers and terrorists to create chaos in the country and refuse to accept the rule of the constitution and the law”, he said.
The JI Ameer said that if PM’s argument was to be accepted, all the murderers, terrorists and saboteurs lying in jails should be set free as their imprisonment won’t bring back their victims nor would their being in the jails benefit the aggrieved families in any way. Besides, he said, this reasoning suggested that all the law courts and law enforcing agencies should be disbanded as they were simply useless.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that after the NA speaker’s ruling in his favour, Mr. Gilani was acting in a manner as if out of control and was issuing statements which made no sense at all. He said that in a recent interview given to a foreign news agency, Mr Gilani had the audacity to say that all those who wanted to leave the country were free to do so.
