Pakistan the biggest victim of terror: Cameron

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday urged all partners in war against terrorism to show patience and understanding with Pakistan because Pakistanis have suffered most from the menace.
He said this in response to a question by Sir Gerald Kaufman, Labour MP in the House of Commons who asked if Cameron deplored Barack Obama’s offensive discourtesy towards the President of Pakistan, the sovereignty of whose country the United States has violated with deadly effect and whether Cameron could confirm that Britain would stand shoulder to shoulder with its Commonwealth partner, Pakistan, in defying American Colonialism.
Cameron said that Pakistan had complex politics and it needed to be given the space to resolve some of those issues.
The British PM assured Pakistan that its friends, such as Britain, would not leave it after the Afghan conflict was over, and that Britain was there for long term partnership, friendship and support.

  1. Is that so. Haahh! Was PM Cameron aware of what reply he was giving to the questioner? To me this is the first time the British have said anything nice about us. However, it remains an undeniable truth that after the Russians withdrew in 1989, Pakistan was left 'high and dry.' And it will not be any more different this time, if there is a withdrawal. But USA will snuggle itself into a tight corner in Afghanistan, and keep an eye on all regional states. Caveat Emptor (buyer beware). Salams
