Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in ambush on a passenger bus, leaving nine people dead and many others injured on Friday.
Unknown gunmen ambushed a passenger coach on National Highway near Qazi Ahmed locality of Nawabshah, prompting President Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of the tragic incidents.
The bus was on its way from Karachi to Swabi town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sindh’s nationalist parties and MQM had condemned the assault, describing it as a bid to fuel ethnic hatred in the province.
Sources said a suspected was arrested from a village in Daulatpur taluka of district Nawabshah, identified as Ejaz Pirzada, who plotted the plan according to police.
