Margallah police Islamabad has arrested a fraudster for duping several men by offering to get them jobs after getting money from them, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
According to details, complainant Mureed Ahmed, a resident of Sector G-8/2, lodged a report with Margallah police that he met Muhammad Farooq of r tehsil Jund, Mohallah Ludhki, Basal, district Attock one year ago, who exposed himself as an intelligence official and also showed him his departmental card.
The complainant said that he minted money from him and his other relatives on the pretext of giving them foreign visas and jobs in various government departments. Following his complaint at Margallah police station, a special team, headed by SHO Inspector Hussain Lasi and ASI Imran Haider arrested him when he was called to meet the complainant.
The police team also recovered nine passports and original educational documents of various people from him. Further investigation is underway. The police team recovered fake card of intelligence agency from him on which his photo had been pasted.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Ameer Sajjad from Bhara Kahu police arrested one fraudster identified as Yaqub who prepared fake documents of land and then tried to get it transferred. Following the FIR No. 183 registered on the complaint of Patwari Muhammad Ibrahim, investigation is underway into the matter to arrest other persons involved in assisting the accused in preparation of fake documents.
Meanwhile, Industrial Areas Assistant Commissioner Imran Ali handed over three cheaters to Margallah police. They were involved in preparing fake affidavits in the names of various persons and minted money from them.
These persons have been identified as Waqar, Naveed and Nadeem.
