IIUI holds painting exhibition

Calligraphy is an important element of Islamic culture and civilization, said Dr NB Jumani, dean, Faculty of Social Sciences of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a painting exhibition.
Calligrapher Rasheed But was the chief guest of the exhibition organised by the Department of Islamic Art and Architecture (Female Section) of the university on Tuesday. More than 80 art pieces created by students on Islamic patterns, Islamic calligraphy and drawing work were put on display.
Dr Zaitoon Begum, director, Female Campus, IIUI, Dr Sadia Tahir, Students Adviser Females, Dr Seema Gull, Provost Female, Ms Attia Abrar, In-charge Department of Islamic Art and Architecture, and a large number of female students also attended the exhibition. Dr NB Jumani appreciated the efforts of the female students to portray their creative work and said that the students should focus on calligraphy and painting because through this they can highlight their expressions regarding various phenomena.
