The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued bailable arrest warrants for Capital Development Authority (CDA) of Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, director land and others in a contempt of court plea for disobeying the court orders in a land compensation case.
Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi resumed hearing of the contempt plea filed by Asad Abbas through his lawyer, Raja Inam Ameen Minhas. During the course of hearing, the counsel for petitioner Raja Inam, told the bench that the CDA chief and other staff did not follow the direction of the court regarding the payment of compensation of 150 kanals of land occupied by the CDA and the management of authority was using delaying tactics instead of implementing the court orders. He contended that the authority flouted the court order. He said that on the last date of hearing, Barrister Masroor Shah, former legal adviser of the CDA, had asured the court that the director land would be present on the next hearing for explaining the implementation of the court but he was absent.
