Exhibition ‘Pakistan in the Realm of Art’ mesmerizes visitors

Students of Digital Advertising and Computer Graphic on Monday showcased their unexplored talents at an art exhibition ‘Pakistan in the Realm of Art’ held at National University of Modern Languages (NUML), promoting the different aspects of Pakistani art and cultural heritage.
The exhibition arranged by the Department of Mass Communication NUML displayed a wide range of art work including mosaic art, abstract art, dough work of mirror and pots, calligraphy in Kufi style, drawings in pastel and charcoal, leather carvings, oil paintings and posters.
A book on truck art which was made by using some latest graphic software was also a source of attraction for the visitors. The exhibited items received a lot of applause from visitors comprising of local and foreign students of different departments, faculty members, heads and deans of the different department of the university.
The visitors appreciated the concept ‘Art on Wheel’ in which the student painters and artists through the use of different medium projected colourful and eye- catching art of truck decoration.
They painted different pictures, carvings, decorations to depict the different trend and era in truck art industry. A book ‘Historical Shields’ by Anum Faryal in adobe and coral beautifully combined the depleting cultural beauty and grandeur of three forts of Potohar which were Phawala Fort, Rewat Fort and Rohtas Fort.
Talking on the occasion, Coordinator of the event, Amna Zulfiqar said that “the purpose of this exhibition is to provide our students an opportunity to exhibit and market their artistic potentials because talent without opportunity is nothing”.
NUML is a place where there is a diversified audience with a diversified international background and they are invited to see students work and most of the time we find many potential customers of a single art work. This all encourages them for more efforts and struggle, she added.
A student Marryum Khalid said that all this is a debut attempt by armature students including herself, Anum Faryal, Asma Aqeel, Sadaf Arif, Nazish Fawad, Saira Rafique, Jawad Ali Shah, Hamad Awan and many others contributed their art works for the exhibition and this platform has added into their confidence and interest to seek for excellence in their skills”. The art exhibition was inaugurated by Rector NUML Maj Gen (R)Masood Hasan and he appreciated the students for coming up with an artwork which was full of aesthetic and artistic appeal. Director General Brig Azam Jamal, Head of Mass Communication Department Col (R) Syed Munawar Ali and many others also visited exhibition and appreciated students for their d‚but effort.
