Potohari Art and Craft Village would be revived soon with renewed spirit by organising extensive cultural activities to promote traditional heritage of Pakistani, said Capital Development Authority Chairman Farkhand Iqbal Monday. During his visit to the village, the CDA chairman said Art andCraft Village is situated at an ideal and environment-friendly area and locals as well as foreigners have keen interest in traditional and cultural activities which also help promote soft image of Pakistan. The chairman directed the member engineering to complete necessary beautification and other repair work. The environment wing has been directed to plant flowers and trees of various species around the Arts and Craft Village. Farkhand Iqbal said the Potohari Village would also serve as a showcase for the nation’s traditional crafts and handloom heritage and provide Islamabad with a unique shopping and entertainment experience. He said the village would also promote the Pakistani traditional products in addition to providing the opportunity of income generation, adding it is a landmark project that would add colours to the unique character and flavours of the Islamabad. The CDA chief said the Arts and Craft Village has been constructed to promote the indigenous arts and handicrafts and enhance the inter-provincial harmony.
