Suspected TTP commander arrested in Karachi

Police claimed to have arrested a suspected commander of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Pak Colony area of Mengopir here on Monday. Talking to media persons, SP Umar said that during investigation from an arrested target killer, the police of Anti Terrorist Squad raided a house in the area and arrested a suspected TTP commander named Yaseen Mehsud who was shifted to an undisclosed place for further investigation. He said that during initial investigation, the accused confessed that he was involved in killing of at least 15 persons including four policemen, adding that official weapons which were snatched from a police man Nadeem after killing him were recovered from his possession.
Karachi target killing claims two more lives,
several wounded: At least two persons were killed and several others injured in fresh spate of target killing in different localities of the city on Monday. According to police, unknown gunmen shot dead one person in Korangi No 6 of Karachi and escaped from the scene. The body was shifted to hospital where identity of the deceases was confirmed as Saeed Gul. Hospital sources said that three bullets were fired in head and chest of the deceased, which proved fatal. Meanwhile, police recovered a bullet riddled dead body of an unknown person from Pehlwan Goth in Gulistan-e-Johar area. The body was shifted to hospital for postmortem. One person was injured in firing over petty dispute in Nazimabad No 2. The injured was rushed to hospital where according to doctors his condition was out of danger. Meanwhile, firing continued in different areas of the city including Lyari, Sohrab Goth, Shah Faisal Colony, North Karachi, Korangi and Nazimabad during which 10 persons were injured. Some unidentified miscreants critically injured a man near a seminary located in proximity of Pahalwan Goth in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. According to police sources, name of the injured man is Shakeel Khan and he was shot in his head. The injured has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital in extremely critical state. Meantime, four people were injured in the separate firing incidents in Quaidabad, Sadar Empress Market, Nazimabad and Pahalwan Goth. Numerous people have been taken in custody during search operation by the Rangers in Federal B Area Block-19.
