Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has said that Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza’s decision about a reference is a victory for democracy and parliament.
In a statement on Sunday, the Minister said that the Speaker had proved that the Parliament is a supreme forum. He said the Speaker National Assembly gave a decision in favour of democracy and added “It was a bold decision taken by Dr Fehmida Mirza.”
The Minister said it has given a new dimension to the democracy. “Ruling of the Speaker National Assembly would help strengthen democracy,” he said and added now it is clear that the Parliament is supreme institution of the country in a democratic system.
