Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab President and Federal Minister Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said on Saturday the decision of the National Assembly speaker had proved that the party stance was correct.
Talking to the media at the PPP Punjab office, he said the decision of the PM not writing a letter to the Swiss government against the president was also right.
He said, “If the PML-N believes in the Turkish government, it should also believe that the opposition has the right to criticise.”
He said people had rejected the PML-N as it had failed to win any election after controversial elections of 1997.
“The PML-N has realised that it will not be able win any elections in the future,” he added.
He said the PML-N leadership was hatching conspiracies and trying to come to power through the backdoors. “For the first time, a democratic government forced a dictator to step down,” he added.
He said the active participation in the PPP rallies had proved that they were with the party and supported its stance, not that of the PML-N.
Earlier, sweets were distributed among party workers for not sending the reference against the prime minister to the election commission.
PPP Punjab General Secretary Azizur Rehman Chan and People’s Punjab Youth Organisation President, Adviser to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Ayub and other office-bearers and PPP workers were also present.
