A man was publicly flogged for allegedly trying to sexually assault a four-year-old girl in District Layya on Saturday.
A local panchayat after finding him guilty of the crime announced sentence of 100 whips for the man, but, local sources said, flogging continued for about an hour.
The accused is a resident of Yousufabad, a densely populated area of District Layya, and both the parties belong to the same family.
Police reached at the scene and after hour-long negotiation with the panchayat they took the accused into their custody and registered a case of child abuse against him.
The panchayat stopped the media from covering the incident, saying it was their private matter.

Such sick man don't deserve to live-Unfortunately the Pakistan police and state presecutors do not take note of such heinous crimes as is done in countries like Iran, UK, Malaysia, Canada, Germany etc
Soon the CM will visit the town and add insult to injury. And courts will let the criminal go honourably. And town elders will tell the family to leave the town for the sake of decency.
