An accountability court on Saturday extended the physical remand of former Pakistan Railways general manager Saeed Akhtar for 15 days, and handed him over to the NAB authorities.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had sought a 15-day extension in the remand, requesting that interrogation was still required on the case of the repairs of Chinese engines.
NAB’s lawyer said that unnecessary parts of engines were purchased for $6.6 million with Akhtar’s signatures. Akhtar’s lawyer denied the charges against his client.
