Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Aslam Tareen ordered that all cases under the Copyright Act, Section 66/67, would be registered after prompt and thorough verification by the SDPO concerned and with approval of the DIG Operations Wing. He pointed out that it had come to his observation that cases under the Copyright Act, Section 66/67, were being registered at police station level by police officers without proper verification and with vested interest which resulted in needless hassle to law-abiding citizens in police stations and courts. He directed implementation of the orders in letter and spirit or strict action would be initiated against the SHO concerned.
