Taliban Saturday strongly condemned Afghan parliamentary approval of the agreement called Afghanistan-US partnership that would govern relations between the two countries till 2024. In a message received here, Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the parliament has proved itself as a foreign agent. Taliban vowed to award exemplary punishment to the parliamentarians who sold Afghanistan under in the name of the so called strategic agreement. He said it is Afghan nation that always compelled aggressor to leave the country and it always punished aggressors as well as their local supporters. “Now it is not far away that such criminals would witness their appropriate sentence.” “Taliban strongly condemn approval of the agreement, which is against national interest,” he further said. He said that Taliban had always said that this government and the parliament is not representative of Afghan people and they are representing the US. Afghanistan’s lower house of the parliament, wolesi jirga, has approved a strategic partnership agreement with the United States. Taliban are opposing such agreements as it would provide ground for Americans’ presence in Afghanistan and they (Taliban) always call upon the foreigners to quit their country. The agreement that would govern the relationship between the two countries through 2024 was signed by President Barack Obama and Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul on May 1.
