19 outlaws including fraudster, killer arrested

Sabzi Manid police have arrested 19 suspects, including a fraudester and a killer during last fortnight, said a police spokesman on Sunday.
Special teams under supervision of Station House Officer of Sabzi Mandi Police Station were constituted which succeeded in arresting criminals involved in fraudulent activities, murder and burglaries. One of the police team arrested a fraudster Ishaq, son of Jamal resident of Toba Tek Singh who sold fake gold coins worth Rs.10,00,000 to Sher Khan by showing him original gold coins in beginning and later changing them with fake coins.
Another police team nabbed Shehzad Khan, who had shot dead a truck driver Nazeer Ullah on IJ Principal Road along with his accomplices and snatched cash from him. Efforts are underway to arrest his two other accomplices.
Two gangs of burglars were also busted and prize bonds worth Rs. 2.2 million, electronic equipments, jewellary were recovered from it. The gang members were identified as Shaihd Mehmud, Farhad Ayub, Wakeel Khan, Qahar Kabeer, Shazia Kishwar and Rasheeda Bibi who confessed their involvement to commit 18 burglaries in various areas and police is hopeful for more recovery from them. Meanwhile, ten persons identified as Waseem Khan, Junaid, Farooq, Ifran Rasool, Zahid Khan, Luqman, Yasir Mehmud, Gulnali, Adeel, Yusuf were also arrested during patrolling in various areas and seven 30 bore pistol, one 32 bore pistol, 12 bore gun, one 22 bore gun were recovered from them.
Three cars (Suzuki Khyber LXN-6484, Shehzore HA-154 and Suzuki Alto) were also recovered in various cases during last fortnight by Sabzi Mandi police while a car thief Islam Nabi was also arrested.
Anti-profiteering drive in full swing in city : The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has intensified its anti-profiteering drive in city to provide maximum relief to the consumers and ensure provision of food items to them at market rates.
The Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Islamabad, conducted surprise price checking in the area of Bhara Kau and imposed fines on the profiteers amounting Rs. 8430 for not displaying the rate list of fruits and vegetables and overcharging from the consumers. He also issued on the spot directions to the shopkeepers to ensure the display of rate list of food items failing which stern action would be taken against the defaulters.
The Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) also checked the hotels and hygienic conditions there. He imposed fines on the four hotels for not maintaining the required standard of hygiene and sanitation. He also took samples of food items and sent them laboratory for quality check. During the course of checking he also got closed a sheesha smoking point in Bhara Kau.
