PBC upgrades 812 clerical cadre employees

The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) has upgraded 812 clerical cadre employees in the light of federal government decision. The government had upgraded the scales of employees in clerical cadre in 2007, but that decision could not be implemented in Radio Pakistan because of certain reasons. Upon the demand of the employees, Director General Murtaza Solangi ordered to implement the government orders pending for the past several years. The upgraded employees belong to all the provinces of the country. Earlier, the Radio Pakistan administration had regularized the services of 661 employees working on daily wages or contacts. The DG has assured the CBA Union Chairman Ahmad Nawaz Niazi and Secretary General Muhammad Ijaz that remaining employees will also be made permanent very soon. The PBC workers have expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira, and DG PBC Murtaza Solangi for fulfilling their long-standing demands.
