Fayyaz Leghari appointed FIA director general

The federal government on Friday issued a notification for the appointment of Fayyaz Leghari as director general (DG) for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
After high-level reshuffling for the top posts, the government transferred former DG FIA Javed Iqbal to the Anti-Narcotics Department, and issued a notification for his appointment as Secretary for Anti-Narcotics Control.
The Anti-Narcotics Force is investigating prime minister’s son Ali Musa Gilani in a multi-billion rupees drug scam.
According to the notification issued by the Establishment Division, Fayyaz Leghari of Police Services Group has been appointed as the DG FIA, replacing Javed Iqbal.
Meanwhile, Zafar Abbas Luk has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) National Highways and Motorways Police (NH&MP) after the retirement of former IG NH&MP Wajid Ali Durrani.
Earlier, Luk was serving as secretary for the Anti-Narcotics Control.
