Govt to make country self-sufficient in water: minister

The government is committed to make the country sufficient in water resources for supplying good quality drinking water for human, livestock, wildlife and for irrigation as well as for industrial use. Minister of State for Science and Technology, Rahila Shahadat Baloch said this during her visit to Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), here Thursday.
The minister paid a visit to National Water Quality laboratory and GIS Centre of the Council. A detailed presentation was given by Chairman, PCRWR Dr Muhammad Aslam Tahir on Research and Development activities of PCRWR pertaining to water quality, water management, rainwater harvesting, groundwater investigations and products and services offered by PCRWR for the masses of the country.
The role played by the Council in addressing various aspects of water resource was also highlighted. The Minister was extremely pleased about the tangible and productive work carried out by the council in the area of water resources and its future endeavors. The Minister also assured the highest level of cooperation and support of government to PCRWR. The Chairman, PCRWR, thanked the state minister for her very keen interest in the activities of the council.

  1. I am amazed at the ease with which ministers present governmens make promises. One is left wih no choice but to admir their audacity and courage in lying.
