Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen has said in view of the prevalent threat of terrorism and the crime situation, it is necessary to keep the morale of the police force high.
In a directive issued on Thursday, he directed the Lahore police to ensure the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for the maintenance of security during Friday prayer congregations through snap checking.
He further ordered the use of walk-through gates and other modern tools for fool-proof security arrangements.
The CCPO asked the divisional SPs to personally review the duties of all the police personnel deputed at darbars, imam bargahs and other such places, besides ensuring continuous patrolling. Tareen added that keeping in view the current situation, the maintenance of law and order and the propagation of harmony in the city is essential. In his order, Tareen also directed the Lahore police to carry out special surveillance and snap checking of all inns, hotels, bus and wagon stands to ward off any possibility of anti-state activity.
