The Afghan Taliban have faced a severe setback as two of their important commanders, including deputy governor for border and mountainous Nooristan Province, have been killed in a NATO airstrike. Reports from across the border revealed that on May 23, NATO targeted the home of Sheikh Jamilur Rehman in Hamshrooz village of Want Weegal district of Nooristan. Rehman was busy in a meeting with militant commander Abdul Hakim at the time. Both of them were killed on the spot, while several others sustained injuries. Taliban have called the assassination of Rehman and Commander Hakim a great loss.
