Active Women’s Walk on May 26

Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh and Habib University Foundation in collaboration with British Council organising iLEAD Active Women Walk on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. from DA Public Recreational Park/McDonalds Park to Floating Ship, Main Sea View Road, Clifton, Karachi. Syed Faisal Ali Subzwari, Minister for Youth Affairs, Government of Sindh will be chief guest of the event, accompanied by Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Secretary, and Khurshid Ali Shaikh, Director, Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh. The aim behind organising this walk is to advocate the need of engaging women in creating a healthy society which is characterised by people who not only possess good physical health and fitness but also demonstrate respect, compassion and acceptance for diversity and foster harmonious relationships among themselves. The walk will also acknowledge the active role played by women in strengthening and fostering a healthy and vibrant society. In this event women from various walks of life will participate. iLEAD – Inspiring Leadership, Empowerment and Development in Youth Collectivism, Sharing and Togetherness is a partnership project of Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh and Habib University Foundation with technical support extended by the British Council. It aims at facilitating leadership, personal development, and active citizenship in youth from Hyderabad and Karachi, through sports and community service.
