A leading global technology infrastructure provider and an IT consulting company TEXPO Group of Companies, UAE has announced 25 scholarships for IT students of six state universities in Pakistan under a talent hunt programme. These students were selected among 371 contestants from six universities including NED University, Karachi University, Jamashoro, Balochistan and Peshawar through an on-line countrywide test held on May 10, 2012. Speaking at scholarship award ceremony on the 3rd day of 7th CONNECT 2012 at Karachi Expo Thursday, president and CEO Dr Sarfraz Alam said these one-year scholarships will be an annual feature. He said that this test was exclusively designed by TEXPO, operating in six countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan. The passing marks were 33 per cent but contestants an average have scored above 75 per cent in the test which shows the talent and high caliber of Pakistani students. The global IT community respects and praises the high quality of Pakistani students. They acknowledge Pakistani IT industry as credible sector”, he added.
