Punjab Paramedical Alliance (PPA) on Tuesday continued its protest for the 15th consecutive day to press the government for the service structure and other allowances for paramedical staff of BPS 1-4.
The protesters staged a demonstration outside the Jinnah Hospital and observed three-hour strike at the hospital’s OPDs and raised slogans in support of their demands.
After the protest ended, Special Assistant to CM for Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq met PPA Chairman Malik Munir Ahmed and other office bearers and assured them of solving their problems soon.
“The meeting ended without making any breakthrough,” a PPA spokesperson said.
They demanded the Punjab government to implement the notification of the service structure and professional healthcare allowance for the paramedics who were also a part of the institutions providing healthcare.
They said other provinces had announced service structure for the paramedics but they were deprived of it in Punjab.
They also announced the next protest demonstration to be held in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on May 23, Wednesday.
