The NUST launched its first official alumni association in an impressive ceremony. The NUST Alumni Association (NAA) will be a non-profit organisation which will work for the unification of NUST alumni, the university, students and its faculty. NUST Rector Engr Muhammad Asghar presided over the ceremony in which the presidents of alumni associations of various NUST schools & colleges, senior alumni, commandants and principals of constituent schools & colleges participated. Amcolians Alumni Association President Dr Mazhar Ishaq, Signalians Alumni Association President Ammar Khan and College of E&ME Alumni Association President Adnan Shahid also gave presentations about their respective associations and appreciated the concept which is to establish and maintain lifelong relationships between the university and its alumni centred around ownership and support. NUST Rector Engr Muhammad Asghar, in his remarksm stated that alumni associations of individual schools & colleges of NUST are now official associations of the university and part of the NUST Alumni Association. They have a mandate to promote academic, research & development and welfare activities for the university and its alumni. He also offered his full support to the cause of alumni development.
