‘Kingdom of Women’ sole Pakistani nom at Cannes

Directed and written by Amna Ehtesham Khaishgi, ‘Kingdom of Women’ has been nominated at the Cannes Film Festival in the Short Film category. A tribute to the working women of Pakistan, it tells the story of the first women-only market in South Asia where entrepreneur women run their businesses. It is the first exclusive sneak-peak into this unique Bazaar which encapsulates the experiences of these inspiring women who have built their future with their own hands. There are two generations of businesswomen included in the documentary. The senior generation that helped establish the bazaar three decades ago and the younger generation that joined the league to support their families while also pursuing their studies at the same time. The post production of the film is supported by Abu Dhabi Film Commission and music is composed by Muqeem Khan. The documentary has been produced by Arsalan Khan
