A US Senate panel has approved a foreign aid budget for next year that cuts US assistance to Pakistan and Egypt, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday. By voice vote Tuesday, a Senate Appropriations subcommittee approved the overall bill totaling $52.1 billion. That is $2.6 billion less than what President Barack Obama requested and $1.2 billion below current spending. Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont cited the strained US relations with Pakistan for reducing aid and imposing restrictions on $1 billion in assistance. Pakistan has closed supply routes for NATO forces in Afghanistan, angering the United States and lawmakers.

  1. The US Senate is making it easier for Pakistan not to open the land route. If they keep putting Pakistan down, they cannot seriously expect to gain favors with Pakistan.

The message is loud and clear, the Americans have no clue about their relationship with Pakistan and the damage they have done to it.

No apology, no land route. As regards Coalition Support Fund, they owe us this money and we should take steps to recover it. In fact the only conversation we should be having with Americans right now is about money they owe us, anything else should take a back seat.

  2. Did you read the headline? “US tames Pakistan with aid cut”
US has been throwing the bone while Pakistan was wagging its tail. Now there is no bone being thrown. So what will you do? Wagg your tail harder !!!!
