Heat wave grips most parts of country

As a heat wave gripped most parts of the country on Tuesday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in the next few days. However light rain/dust-thunderstorm is likely at isolated places of Rawalpindi division and a dust storm is also likely to occur over southern parts of Punjab during the next 24 hours. According to the Met Office, wind pressure in the plains remained steady as usual due to which temperature is increasing while most parts remain in the grip of dusty winds. The heat wave continues to grip southern parts of the country and is likely to increase during the next two to three days. Turbat and Dadu remained the hottest cities with temperatures around 45˚C. The Met Office said seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending south eastwards. A shallow westerly wave is affecting Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas and likely to persist for next 24-36 hours. Temperatures recorded in Nawabshah, Mithi, and Pud Eidan was 44˚C, Mohenjodaro and Sibi 43˚C, Islamabad 35˚C, Lahore and Multan 41˚C, Karachi 36˚C and Peshawar 35˚C.
