U2 frontman Bono has dismissed reports he has become the world’s richest musician, insisting that he is not richer than any of the Beatles. Reports had said earlier that Bono, who owns 2.3 per cent of the shares of the social networking site Facebook, is set to earn more than USD 1.5 billion as the site’s stocks hit the market for the first time, reported a magazine. “Contrary to reports, I am not a – this boy is not a billionaire or going to be richer than any Beatle… That’s just a joke,” he said. It was also reported that the Facebook deal would make Bono the richest rocker on the planet, wealthier than Paul McCartney. Beatles` legend McCartney currently holds the title of the world’s richest rock star at USD 1.5 billion. Bono and his band are already in the list of Forbes’ World`s Highest-Paid Musicians after their tour grossed USD 700 million.
