Sports Board honour touch ball teams

The Sports Board Punjab on late Monday night organised a reception-cum-dinner in honour of the participating teams of the Touch Ball Tournament that concluded here at the Punjab Stadium.
Apart from hosts Pakistan, teams from neighbouring India and Afghanistan participated in this four-day activity which was won by the Pakistan team with flying colours. Deputy Speaker Punjab Rana Mashood, who was the chief guest of the final prize distribution ceremony, was also the guest of honor of the reception. The teams and guests were also entertained by a musical evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Mashood praised the spirit of the participating teams and the efforts of the organizers for holding such an event involving foreign teams at a time when a wrong perception about Pakistan security is being spread. He also thanked the visiting teams and officials of the world touch ball federation for giving the Punjab government an opportunity to host them.
Apart from Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Rana Mashood Ahmad, Director General, Sports Board Punjab, Usman Anwar, Secretary, international touch ball federation Dennis Coffey and head of Indian and Afghanistan teams and Senior Vice President, Pakistan Touch Ball Federation, Rai Altaf Hussain and Secretary PTBF Zahoor Ahmad were also present on the occasion.
Director General Sports Usman Anwar also appreciated the winning team’s enthusiasm and highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment towards sports and the development of youth and also announced the government’s plan of holding the Youth Festival in the coming months.
Usman said that he will leave no stone un-turned in the development of the sports facilities in the province and do what ever possible for the grooming of talented players of Punjab.
