The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday suspended sessions court orders for registration of murder case against PPP leader Nabil Gabol and Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Chaudhry Aslam for allegedly staging a ‘fake encounter’ in Lyari. On Thursday, Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) Abdul Razzaq directed SHO Chakiwara to register the murder case of Saqib alias Sakhiullah who was claimed to have been killed in police action in Lyari. The crackdown was supervised by Aslam Chaudhry. The sessions court had passed the order on a plea filed by Bilqees Bano, a paternal aunt of Sakhiullah, claiming that her nephew was killed in a fake encounter and alleged that the people responsible were none other than MNA Nabeel Gabol and SSP Chaudhry Aslam. On Monday, the SHC heard the case on a plea filed by Chaudhry Aslam’s counsel. He argued that the sessions court had ignored real facts in the incident. “He was a criminal and killed in police encounter, therefore he should not be considered an innocent citizen.”
