Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) Principal Dentist Prof Dr Noor Mohammad Khoso has underlined that nearly 70 per cent of dental problems in kids are result of junk food and soft drinks.
Speaking to APP, he said that due to salty, saucy and greasy junk food and soft drinks tooth decay was on the rise among kids across the country especially in the posh localities.
He informed that the eating chapati was helpful in making the teeth strong among the kids but unfortunately, he said, use of chapati has been decreased among the kids. He said that beverages contain acid, phosphorous and sugar and when these three are combined, they become dangerous for the children’s teeth and the acid could melt parts of the teeth.
He further said that most of the parents who visited his were unaware of the importance of their babies’ teeth. He said toffees and chocolates could also damage the structure of the teeth. He said, some kids who visited his clinic had black stains on the outer part of their teeth and these black stains were harmful to the teeth of the children.
Dr Noor Mohammad further advised the children who brush and floss regularly, use fluoride mouthwash, limit snacks and sweet drinks and visit the dentist twice a year. He suggested that people take care of their mouth like any other part of the body because it’s linked to the rest of the body.

  1. Kids would always be kids, and they'll always have a huge passion for junk food at their age. What my dentist in malden ma would suggest is to make sure in guiding them on how to brush their teeth. And if possible, take them to the dentist at least once every two months for a dental check up.

  2. Since kids have huge passion for junks, they're obviously the most affected ones by these when it comes to dental health. Even according to my dentist in north hollywood ca, most of their patients are kids. I guess parents just needs to be more strict when it comes to their children's diet.

  3. Terrific work! This is the type of info that are supposed to be shared around the web. Disgrace on the seek engines for no longer positioning this publish higher! Come on over and discuss with my site .

  4. After reading this informative article, there are a lot of things revolving around my mind on how to help our little ones to avoid junk food. Our department of health in cooperation with every parents and doctors must tighten the campaign against junk foods. I know that Mrs. Obama has a campaign on obesity with our children, but it would be great if she added further problems that arise from eating junk food, like problems with the teeth that arise from it. A healthy discipline must start basically inside the household. Parents must be educated as well on how to give their kids proper guidance and instructions to choose foods that will not hurt their health. A proper cooperation from a higher authorities down to individual family members is very important in this case. I also have done a few articles on my site on this, I would be happy if you would like to visit my blog and leave me your opinion and comment. http://www.dentistcudahyca.com/blog

  5. It looks awkward to see my crooked tooth whenever I see myself in mirror and they have turned yellowish. My mother took me to a dentist who advised us to wait until I cross the right age for performing cosmetic dentistry. I am grown up now, and we are mentally prepared to consult the experts at http://www.sdcosmeticdentists.com/ once again. It will help correcting the structural flaws and make my teeth shiny white.

  6. Junk food not only affects the internal parts of our body but also affects our oral region. Dental problem is very common in kids due to chocolates, ice creams etc. but junk food are also responsible for it. Cool drinks is also another victim to it. Here it is really a nice post. Parents should definitely stay alert for these things. Thanks for sharing. Visit: https://www.progressiq.com/ for dental school software. You'll got a lot from here.
