Businessman recovered; kidnappers arrested: IGP

Islamabad Police have safely recovered famous businessman of the city abducted by unknown persons without paying ransom amount to them, Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan said here on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference here at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the IGP said some unknown persons had abducted Muhammad Yousuf, owner of `Mr Books’ shop from Super Market and then demanded Rs 25 million from his daughter as ransom amount. During this contact, the kidnappers also threatened to kill him in case police was informed. The IGP said the Islamabad police had started investigation into the case after registration of case on behalf of Saad Yousuf, the son of abducted person.
He said SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik was assigned special task for his recovery and special teams headed by SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas including SHO Inspector Fiaz Ahmed Tanoli, Inspector Raja Rahat, Inspector Rauf Kinai, Constables Jaffer Abbas and Abdul Waheed were constituted. These team ensured surveillance at various points at the outer cordon of twin cities and succeeded to reach the house in outer point of the city where the abducted person was kept.
The IGP said Muhammad Yousuf had deteriorating health when he was recovered. He said four kidnappers including a woman were arrested when policemen headed by SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas entered this house in guise of common men. The nabbed persons have been identified as ring leader Haji Sab, Guldasta, Mumraiz Khan and Aqeel Sethi.
He said this group of kidnappers had been involved in various criminal activities in KPK, Rawalpindi and other districts. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik, SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas, officers-bearers of ICCI and other senior police officials were also present on the occasion.
