Aitzaz appointed counsel to contest ZAB case in SC

Acting President Nayyar Hussain Bokhari on Tuesday appointed Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, in place of Dr Zaheer-ud-Din Babar Awan, as counsel to the court in the reference made by the president of Pakistan under Article 186 of the Constitution to re-visit the trail of former prime minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
The summary received from the Ministry of Law & Justice, through the prime minister’s office, said that the president, on the advice of the prime minister, had earlier authorised the-then federal minister for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs to appear, argue and assist the Supreme Court in the said Reference.
It said that the Supreme Court, in Reference No 1 of 2011, had asked the attorney general for Pakistan, vide para 6 of the Order dated 17-01-2012, “to inform the president of Pakistan that in view of January 5, and Tuesday’s order, the license of Babar Awan, Sr ASC has temporarily been suspended, therefore, it would be appropriate if another counsel would be appointed to address arguments in the Reference which is one of the most important cases in the history of this Court.”
In view of this, the Ministry of Law & Justice suggested to the prime minister to advise the president to appoint another Counsel to address the Court in the above-cited Reference.
Accordingly, the prime minister advised the president for appointing another counsel and today the acting president has appointed Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, Sr ASC to address the court in this Reference.

This back stabber is on a mission. He will stop at nothing. As fast as he is rising, his fall will be even faster. He is carefully manuvering for the prime minister's slot. Since he's compromised his principle's (if any), he's going for all or nothing. The man has no morals.

Morality is not the issue. Legality is the issue. Let us admit the man is good! If you were in a legal mess whom would you prefer Aitzaz or Awan.? If you were to undergo
(god forbid) a heart operation whom would you choose? I would choose the former -how about you? I have always maintained the man is a giant amongst midgets.
