18 Indian fishermen released from Landhi Jail

Eighteen Indian fishermen were set free from Landhi Jail here on Tuesday as a part of good will gesture. The authorities released the 18 Indian fishermen who were arrested by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) for fishing inside Pakistan’s sea limits. During last week India, as good will gesture had released a Pakistani scientist Dr Khaleel Chishti who remained in Indian jails for about 20 years. The released fishermen would be handed over to Indian authorities at Wahga border on Wednesday (today). It should be mentioned that hundreds of fishermen arrested for violating sea territorial limits of each other’s country were still in Pakistani and Indian jails.
