Three more killed in Karachi

The unstoppable wave of violence continued in the financial hub of the country as another three people lost their lives on Monday morning in various incidents of firing in different areas of the city.
According to police, a 40-year man Fareed Shah was gunned down in Nazimabad’s Mujahid Colony this morning. Also, a security guard lost his life in a firing incident in Rizvia Society.
Meantime, body of a youth was recovered from Shah Waliullah Road in Kharadar. The deceased could not be identified as yet.
Also, a 25-year old youth Shehzad Alam was critically injured in a firing incident that occurred this morning in Orangi Town-5.
Meanwhile, police on Monday claimed to have arrested three members of banned People’s Aman Committee (PAC).
Police conducted a raid in Saeed Abad area of Baldia Town on Monday morning and arrested three alleged PAC members, seizing arms and motorcycles.
Police said the three accused Azam Bux, Abdul Jalil and Gul were involved in several crimes.
The accused have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
Meanwhile two employees were killed and eight other injured when boiler in an industrial unit exploded in Karachi’ Korangi area.
According to rescue officials, the powerful blast damaged a large portion of the factory of oxygen cylinder manufacturing in Korangi industrial area on Monday morning.
Two people, who were employees of the factory, were killed and at least eight injured, including a woman, after boiler of the plant exploded due to unknown reasons, police said.
Police and rescue teams arrived at the site and shifted the injured to different hospitals, fearing that few more workers are trapped under the debris, and the death toll may rise.
Police evacuated workers from the factory, saying that it has become dangerous since cracks in walls as a result of the powerful blast.
The blast was so powerful that the roof of the building was swept away by it, police added.
