Pakistan has a vital role in transition of power and stability in Afghanistan, said a joint communique of Nato summit held in Chicago.
The statement noted that the Nato will continue extending cooperation for Afghanistan after 2014 troops withdrawal.
The 65-point statement said peace process that was discussed in Istanbul Conference would be advanced for stability in South Asia.
The statement said that Nato is working with Pakistan to reopen supply routes as soon as possible and that the country had an important role to play in Afghanistan’s stability and security.
Leaders from 61 countries, including, US, Afghanistan and Pakistan attended the Nato summit to finalise the transition plan for Afghanistan.
The statement said the allies would provide funds to strengthen Afghan security forces.
