New billboards in Karachi

It took the Sindh government, Karachi civil administration and police two weeks before they took notice of huge billboards advocating division of our province and creation of a Muhajir province. Anybody going to Karachi airport via Shahrah-e-Faisal could not have missed the wall chalking or the billboards, unless he is blind. No private television channel of our so called independent media dared to show these billboards, or wall chalking for they fear fate of Wali Babar.

How come nobody has been arrested for these acts committed on Karachi’s most important busy main road, which is patrolled by our police and on which there are many military, naval and air-force instalments. This could not have occurred without consent of those in power.

It seems all this is part of the policy of mufahimat, whose sole objective is to remain in power at any cost. The PPP is responsible for this betrayal of Sindh. They launched an operation in Lyari, as if it alone was infested with criminals, while rest of city was handed over to armed gang of one of their coalition partners.

Target killings have resumed with a vengeance in Karachi and so have drug and land mafia gangs, yet nobody dares to arrest these criminals. It is the much talked of brinkmanship of PPP leadership that encouraged an ethnic political party of Karachi to launch an unconstitutional campaign for division of other provinces in violation of constitution and 18 Amendment. Now that the chickens have come back to roost, it is PPP which has to be held responsible for such petty dangerous politics, without analyzing consequences and backlash of such a policy.
