The authorities have placed the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, under house arrest in Srinagar, Occupied Kashmir.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was schedule to preside over a seminar at the APHC headquarters in Srinagar, today, in connection with the Martyrdom Week. However, the puppet authorities deployed heavy contingents of Indian troops and police personnel outside his residence asking him not to come out, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The APHC Chairman talking to media men over phone strongly denouncing the action called it an undemocratic step. He also castigated the police for conducting raids on the houses of Hurriyet leaders and activists to prevent them from taking part in the programs announced by the APHC in connection with the Martyrdom Week.
