The exhibition of modern miniature paintings by three artists at Rohtas art gallery here will continue till May 23 with a focus on promoting contemporary techniques that merge the theme and compositions.
The collection of over 20 miniature paintings has been put on display by Fahad Hameed, Noureen Rasheed and Shiblee Munir with title “Neo World Order”.
Noureen displayed her work with portrayal of experiences of her life as surviving among the set rules where she finds herself vulnerable to obey such obligation, which has been penetrated in people’s lives tangibly or intangibly. Her work is her own world where she attempts to depict the notions humbly with the use of lines as metaphor to express thoughts.
Fahad’s work is about his experience of `Traditional studies of Miniature paintings’. “It always instigates me to inquire about its original cores, the visual composition, specially very smooth plane divided surface but much rigid and unbreakable rules,” he said.
Explaining the works, the artist said, “The fundamental principles (thin fine lines practice with pencil on paper and the siyah qalam on wasli) of miniature paintings always magnetize me to find out the pleasure behind it. White lines of thread on the black surface are highly contrast (by color and medium) but consummate the idea of `My first lesson of miniature painting’.”
Shiblee Munir in the work focusses on life which is not real or false, but it is about illusion. Experience is part of human existence and he strives to probe the lines between human and environmental relationships.
The bond between human beings and nature poses and solicits the need for a joint co-evolution between the living and budding technological innovations. His work explores the observation of these often strained relationships through the proposition of potential remedies for constant struggle with co-evolution.
