Gang busted; 8 bikes recovered

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted a gang of motorcycle thieves and recovered six motorbikes, two disbanded bikes, CNG kits and batteries from their possession, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
A special team was constituted for the purpose, started efforts and succeeded to arrest two motorcycle thieves identified as Naveed s/o M. Aslam and Shafaqat Ali alias Shaku, residents of Mirabadia, Islamabad. The nabbed persons confessed to stealing motorbikes and CNG kits from various areas of Golra and Ramna police stations. Six motorbikes, two disbanded bikes, CNK kits and batteries were recovered from them. Meanwhile, five other outlaws were arrested with illegal weapons and hashish from different areas. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Idress from Tarnol police nabbed an accused Tariq Mehmud for having 30 bore pistol while sub-Inspector Iftikhar Ahmed from Kohsar police arrested Yasir Khan in possession of 30 bore pistol too. Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali from Shehzad town police apprehended a drug pusher Zahir for having 1.020 kilogram hashish while Sub-Inspector Muhammad Haneef arrested Abdul Waheed in possession of 30 bore pistol.
