Zardari invited to Chicago after assuring NATO supply restoration: Hussain

Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) senior leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmad said on Saturday that President Asif Ali Zardari received the invitation for the Chicago summit after displaying the written decision of the Pakistani government in favour of the restoration of the NATO supplies, which were terminated by the government after the Salala check post episode. Speaking to reporters at the Okara Press Club, Hussain said passing the resolution of no-confidence against the prime minister, who has already served his sentence, was a futile effort on the part of the PML-N. He stated that the appeal of Prime Minister Gilani in the contempt of court case will also bear no fruit because the PM had already borne the punishment of a few seconds. The JUI leader said Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan had participated in the long march with Nawaz Sharif for the restoration of the chief justice and was instrumental in stopping the masses at Gujranwala from approaching the federal capital. Hafiz said the PM is confident in his counsel as he could stop the Sharif long march against him. Commenting on the restoration of the NATO supplies, he said the decision to open the supply routes had already been taken when the ministers and other politicians were busy in futile discussion over the issue.
