Government will overcome energy crisis, says Ghurki

Federal National Heritage Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki said the PPP-led government was trying its best to overcome the energy crisis by using all possible resources at its disposal.
Addressing a stone-laying ceremony for a 3km long road at the Eacho Gil village on Saturday, she said the relationship between the PPP and the Pakistani people was very old and that the PPP leadership had even sacrificed their lives for it.
“Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed fulfilled their commitment to the people by sacrificing their lives,” she added.
She said the present government had provided gas and electricity to almost all villages of the NA 130 constituency and that work in the remaining villages was underway.
The minister said Pakistan was not the only country facing the energy crisis adding that several other countries were also facing similar problems.
She stated that the PPP government will successfully overcome the crisis.
She added that the PPP was focused on providing basic facilities to the villages, adding that hundreds of poor people were being supported through the Benazir Income Support Programme.
MPA Habib Awan was also present on the occasion.
Education top priority of govt: Federal National Heritage Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki said the education sector is a priority of the government.
Addressing a prize distribution ceremony at a local school at Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Saturday, she said public-private partnership had improved the performance of the education sector.
She stated that the role of parents was as important as that of teachers for the character building of children to allow them to contribute to the society.
“Today’s child is the future of the nation,” she added. Later, the minister distributed prizes among the position holders.
