‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ is yet another stylish, dark-edged version of the Grimm Brothers tale. She plays the ruthless Queen Ravenna, who is jealous of the beautiful Snow White (Kristen Stewart). The evil queen plans to have Snow White killed in the woods, but the girl teams up with the handsome huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) to gather an informal army to topple the queen. Theron also stars in the upcoming ‘Prometheus’, a sci-fi adventure directed by Ridley Scott. Theron plays the hard-edged leader of a team that will travel into space to explore alien life forms to see if they are the origins of the human race. In the furthest corners of the universe, they confront a malevolent space predator. It is being promoted as Scott’s Alien trilogy on steroids. The sci-fi madness continues with ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, director Marc Webb has returned to the source, but he refuses to call it a remake. So much has changed in film technology that the film will, he says, be significantly different. Andrew Garfield plays Spidey, with the gorgeous Emma Stone as the heroine. The biggest and most keenly awaited season’s blockbuster is ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. Director Christopher Nolan returns to the series he created and actor Christian Bale returns to the Batsuit for the third time. Anne Hathaway slips into a slinky leotard to play Catwoman.
