7th Asia Clean Energy Forum from June 4

In an attempt to focus on Sustainable Energy Development and to bring advance clean energy solutions in the region, the 7th Asia Clean Energy Forum will kick off from June 4. For the past six years, the Asian Development Bank ( ADB’s) annual flagship event, the Asia Clean Energy Forum has progressively served as the premier knowledge sharing platform for learning and exchange of experiences on key issues and latest developments in clean energy.
This year’s forum, which is scheduled for 4-8 June 2012, promises to be especially dynamic as it coincides with the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All, announced by UN Secretary General Ban Ki- moon in 2011. This year’s forum will focus on Sustainable Energy Development and will serve as a platform among stakeholders for exchanging experiences and forging new partnerships to advance clean energy solutions in the region.
Educational institutions supplying unhygienic drinking water Majority of educational institutions/schools of Rawalpindi district are supplying their students with unhygienic drinking water. The situation is more rampantly serious in private institutions that have obtained fake water purification certificates due to their links with influential elements. This is causing rampant stomach diseases among students.
The parents who are paying heavy tuition fees for educational upkeep and care of their offspring have expressed their strong reservations over the issue while health authorities insist that due action is being taken against such educational institutions.
Obituary: Haji Habib-ur-Rehman Khan, father of CEO, Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC), Ihsanullah Khan and renowned figure of Marble Sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, passed away after short illness in a local hospital.
His namaz-e-jinaza was performed in Peshawar. He was laid to rest in a local graveyard.
